مدينة حالمة بين قمم الجبال وبحيرات رائقة، حيث يداعب الضباب التلال الخضراء في لوحة طبيعية خلابة. تتميز كاندي بنسائمها اللطيفة وأمطارها المتكررة ومزارع الشاي الممتدة، ما يجعلها العاصمة الجبلية الأكثر سحرًا في البلاد.

كانت كاندي معقلًا قويًا للملوك السنهاليين قبل أن تنتقل للحكم البريطاني عام 1815. كما تُعد موطنًا لأول وأوسع مزارع الشاي، واليوم تشتهر بشاي Ceylon الرائع المنتشر حول العالم.

معبد السن المقدس
Yet another feature which drives attention to the hill city is the Dalada Maligawa – Temple of the sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha.
